Removes the authority of certain entities to make appointments to the board of commissioners of economic development districts located in a municipality with a population exceeding 300,000 persons.
Proposed law provides that a nonprofit entity authorized to appoint one or more members totheboardofcommissionersofaneconomicdevelopmentdistrictlocatedinamunicipality with a population exceeding 300,000 persons shall forfeit its authority to make such appointments if the nonprofit entity is not in good standing with the secretary of state.
Provides that the forfeiture shall exist for a minimum period of two years even if the nonprofitentitytakesthenecessaryactionsto bein goodstandingwith thesecretaryofstate within the two-year period.
