Provides relative to the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners definitions for preceptor and preceptee and their duties and responsibilities.
Present law defines board, chiropractor duties, and the practice of chiropractic.
Proposed law adds definitions for preceptor and preceptee.
Proposed law provides for preceptors to delegate responsibilities and tasks to a preceptee, requires a preceptor to be licensed and in good standing in this state or another jurisdiction forfiveyears,belicensedbytheLouisianaBoardofChiropracticExaminersforatleastone year, not have had any disciplinary issues in the preceding three years, does not have any open complaints, and is not under any investigations.
Proposed law prohibits preceptors from delegating responsibility to render a diagnosis or prescribe a treatment plan to a preceptee and prohibits preceptees performing adjustments or manipulation in accordance with the proposed law from presenting to the public that the preceptee is a licensed chiropractor.
