The amendments to Bill HB 306 change how court costs and attorney fees are handled in domestic violence cases. Now, the bill specifies that the perpetrator of domestic violence will be responsible for paying a reasonable attorney fee and any evaluation fees must be court-approved. These modifications ensure that victims of domestic abuse are not burdened with costs associated with legal proceedings, which helps support their access to justice.
