Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill SR 22 adds detailed information about the "Sims Formula," which dictates how to divide retirement benefits between former spouses after a divorce. This change clarifies that the formula considers the years of service during the marriage relative to total service years, ensuring fair distribution of pension rights. This matters because it provides clearer guidelines for dividing retirement benefits, potentially reducing disputes between divorced couples about asset division.
