Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to HB 529 clarifies the structure and appointment process of the Parole Board by specifying that board members must have at least five years of relevant experience or prior service on the board. It also ensures that political diversity is maintained by limiting the number of members from the same political party to six. These changes are important because they aim to create a more qualified and balanced Parole Board, which can lead to fairer and more informed decisions regarding parole.
