The amended version of House Bill 2215 increases the maximum allowable financial contribution from the Kansas Department of Corrections for public-private partnership construction projects from 25% to 50% of the total project costs. This change allows the department to invest more in these projects, potentially leading to better facilities and infrastructure in correctional institutions. By expanding the cost-share limit, the bill encourages collaboration with private entities, which may result in improved efficiency and resources for corrections projects.
