Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to House File 907 change the deadline for the Department of Transportation to implement the registration of noncommercial fleet vehicles and issue special plates from August 1, 2028, to December 1, 2028. Additionally, the definition of a noncommercial fleet vehicle has been clarified, specifying that it refers to a group of two or more vehicles owned and used for business purposes. These changes matter because they provide more time for the department to set up the necessary processes while ensuring the criteria for fleet vehicles are clearly understood, which can help streamline registration for businesses.
