Plain-language change summary

The changes to Senate File 2422 involve clarifications regarding the use of a federal verification system for checking immigration status as part of public assistance programs like Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). One significant addition is the explicit mention of the "systematic alien verification for entitlements online service" as a tool for verifying citizenship. This matters because it establishes a clear process for the state to confirm eligibility based on immigration status, which can impact access to essential services for certain residents.
