The recent amendment to Senate File 2201 establishes new provisions related to school funding, specifically setting the state percent of growth for the budget year starting July 1, 2026, at two percent. Previously, the bill also referred to the "regular program state cost per pupil," which has now been removed. This change simplifies the bill by focusing more on the state percent of growth and reinforces the budget's predictability, which is crucial for school districts in planning their financial resources effectively.
