Plain-language change summary

The updated version of House File 2500 adds specific provisions that restrict certain types of contract terms that state agencies can agree to. For instance, it now prohibits including clauses that allow anyone other than the attorney general to agree to settle lawsuits, or that require contracts to be governed by foreign laws. These changes are important because they protect state interests by ensuring that contracts remain transparent and that legal authority over state agreements stays with designated officials, like the attorney general.
