Plain-language change summary

The revised version of House File 648 clarifies the qualifications for dentists obtaining a licensed sedation provider host permit. Notably, it eliminates the requirement for the dentist to hold a similar out-of-state permit if their training course was completed more than twelve months prior to applying, making it easier for more dentists to qualify. Additionally, the certification requirement for advanced cardiovascular life support has been simplified to focus on standards set by the board rather than naming a specific organization, which could broaden access for certification. These changes aim to streamline the process, enabling more dentists to offer sedation during procedures, thus potentially improving patient care options.
