Plain-language change summary

The amendment to House File 2303 changed the percentage of ticket sales that counts toward gross admission receipts from 1% to 36%. This means that a larger portion of the ticket sales will be taxed at a 5% rate within twenty days of the event. This change matters because it increases the tax revenue from kickboxing events, which could then be used to support athletic programs or other state initiatives.
