Plain-language change summary

The latest version of House File 2781 introduces a change in how funds from the juvenile detention home fund will be allocated. Previously, funding was distributed based on the proportion of costs incurred by each detention home in the previous fiscal year. The new amendment ensures that each home will receive a guaranteed $150,000 upfront, with any remaining funds distributed based on their costs afterward. This change is significant as it aims to provide more stable and predictable funding for juvenile detention facilities, potentially enhancing their ability to operate effectively.
