The recent amendments to Bill HB 681 clarify the process for providing health services to school-aged children. Notably, the bill now specifies that height and weight measurements will be conducted by "other trained health care practitioners" instead of just teachers, ensuring that these measurements are handled by qualified personnel. Additionally, it allows parents or guardians to request an exemption from height and weight measurements in writing, which provides families with more control over their children's health assessments. These changes are important as they aim to enhance the quality of health services in schools and respect parental choice.
