Plain-language change summary

The updated version of House File 2200 includes a new definition for “authorized noninstitutional investor.” This change allows individuals who own a small portion (up to 5%) of a business involved in the alcohol industry, without being actively involved in its management, to maintain their investment. This amendment could encourage more private investment in the alcohol industry by allowing individuals to have a stake without taking on governance roles, potentially benefiting the industry and the economy.
