The updated Senate File 639 lowers the threshold for cases eligible for the new specialty business court from $500,000 to $200,000. This change is significant because it allows a broader range of business disputes, including those involving technology licensing and internal business affairs, to be handled by this specialized court. By making it easier for smaller claims to be heard, the court aims to promote efficiency and ensure that more businesses can access justice more quickly.
