The amended version of SB 3449 has replaced the term "electronic credential" with "mobile identification card" to clarify the type of identification being discussed. Additionally, it now explicitly states that no one, including law enforcement, can take possession of a person's mobile device just to verify their identity. These changes are important because they enhance privacy protections for individuals using mobile IDs and ensure that their devices remain secure.
