Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 359 includes specific definitions and provisions aimed at protecting residents and businesses from being forced to relocate due to development projects. It introduces the concept of "anti-displacement activities," which are measures designed to support those who may be impacted by changes in their neighborhoods. This change is important as it recognizes the need to balance development with the rights and stability of existing community members, ensuring they are not unduly harmed by new projects.
