Plain-language change summary

The bill HB 3255 has been amended to ensure that if a public safety employee is injured and later dies, their employer will continue to pay the full health insurance premium for both the surviving spouse and dependent children. Previously, the coverage for the spouse was limited to only until they remarried. This change is important because it provides ongoing health care support for surviving families, regardless of marital status, which can ease financial burdens during an already difficult time.
