Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 1051 has been amended to include a new section that allows emergency services districts to expand their board of trustees from five to seven members. This change means that when an emergency services district decides to adopt this expansion, the appointing authority will need to appoint two additional trustees within 60 days. This matters because it enables more community input and potentially better decision-making in emergency services management, as a larger board can bring diverse perspectives and expertise.
