The updated version of Bill SB 1602 removes a section related to the creation of a new fund for the Sexual Assault Survivor Treatment Regulation, while retaining and clarifying definitions within the Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act. Specifically, it maintains the definitions for "acute sexual assault," "advanced practice registered nurse," and "ambulance provider," emphasizing their importance for medical care and response. This change highlights a shift away from financial structuring towards optimizing the existing healthcare and support mechanisms for survivors, which is crucial for ensuring effective emergency treatment.
