Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 1672 was amended to change the deadline for school districts to report their early literacy screener information from July 1, 2026, to the 30th day of the 2026-2027 school year. Additionally, the date for the State Board of Education to publish its report with the received data was changed from January 1, 2027, to March 1, 2027. These changes provide schools more time to gather the necessary data and give the public a clearer timeline on when the information will be made available. This is important because it aims to ensure that the data collected is thorough and accurate, which can help improve early literacy efforts in schools.
