Plain-language change summary

The revised bill HB 1441 now removes a specific section that previously set a minimum age of 19 for lifeguards at Chicago lakefront beaches, allowing younger lifeguards who complete a Junior Lifeguard Program to be employed. Additionally, it requires the Chicago Park District to provide 30 hours of open-water training for all lifeguards before they begin work. This change is important because it expands job opportunities for young people while ensuring they receive adequate training to ensure safety at the beaches.
