What changed in the latest version

The amended version of Bill SB 2008 now includes new lines that define "independently owned" and "local ownership," which were not present in the previous draft. This clarification is important because it helps ensure that the Grocery Initiative Act supports local businesses effectively. By clearly defining these terms, the bill aims to foster local economies and make it easier to identify which businesses qualify for any benefits or support outlined in the act.
