Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 2201 include additional details about contraband-related data within correctional facilities. The updated version specifies not just the types of contraband and their locations, but also includes information on how contraband enters the facility, specific types of drugs tested, and the outcomes of those tests. This change is important because it aims to enhance transparency and accountability regarding contraband incidents, which could improve safety and security measures within correctional institutions. The removal of certain lines also streamlines the focus on specific data elements, making the bill clearer and more targeted in addressing contraband issues.
