Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 39 clarify that the tiny homes are specifically designated for veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and must be constructed by nonprofit organizations that support veterans. Additionally, the requirement for including electric vehicle (EV)-capable parking spaces in the building permits for these homes has been removed. This matters because it aims to streamline the construction process for tiny homes tailored for at-risk veterans, making it easier to provide them with affordable housing without additional burdensome requirements.
