Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill SB 807 updates various sections of the Unemployment Insurance Act to clarify how weekly benefit amounts are calculated based on individuals' past wages. Specifically, it changes the percentage of prior average weekly wages used to determine benefits, ensuring that amounts are rounded appropriately and setting a minimum value for weekly benefits. This change is important because it aims to provide clearer guidelines and possibly more equitable financial support for those seeking unemployment benefits. Additionally, a technical adjustment was made to the short title of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois for clarity.
