Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HB 226 introduces a new provision that makes it illegal for companies to send notices about expired home warranty plans, especially if the notice requests payment but the recipient doesn’t have an active warranty with that company. This change is important because it protects consumers from deceptive practices that could lead them to mistakenly pay for services they don’t need. The amendment aims to ensure greater transparency and fairness in how home warranty companies communicate with their customers.
