Plain-language change summary

The latest version of Bill HB 4203 updates the requirements for insurance coverage of ovarian cancer screenings, starting January 1, 2028. It now mandates that insurance policies cover annual screening tests without any cost-sharing for those at risk, which includes specific tests like CA-125 blood tests and ultrasounds. Additionally, the bill expands the type of coverage insurers must provide by including other diagnostic methods like MRIs and CT scans, although this additional coverage may be subject to cost-sharing. These changes are important because they aim to improve access to essential cancer screenings for individuals at higher risk, potentially leading to earlier detection and better health outcomes.
