The recent amendments to the Juvenile Curfew Act make significant changes to curfew regulations for minors in the District. Starting now, the curfew will begin at 11 p.m. for those under 18 instead of 17, and it also gives the Mayor and the Chief of Police the power to extend curfew hours or establish special curfew zones as needed. This aims to enhance public safety during late-night hours, which is important for protecting both the community and the youth.
