The proposed changes to the Day Care Policy Act of 1979 update the minimum salary requirements for lead and assistant teachers in child development facilities, which will take effect in January 2026. Additionally, the amendments clarify the definitions related to community-based organizations and streamline references to existing laws. These updates aim to improve compensation for early childhood educators and strengthen the support system for early childhood education programs, which is crucial for the development of young children in the community.
