Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to the District of Columbia's Election Code primarily clarifies the requirements for petition circulators. It specifies that circulators must attest that they haven't altered any signer's information after the signer has signed the petition. This change matters because it aims to protect the integrity of the petition process and ensures that any modifications are only made when a signer explicitly requests assistance before signing. Additionally, the title of the act has been updated to reflect the current year, changing it from 2025 to 2026.
