Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill B 26-0023 allows the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Board to extend the hours for serving alcoholic beverages to 4:00 a.m. and permit 24-hour operations during cultural, sporting, or tourism events. This change requires participating businesses to register with the Board, pay a minimum fee, and provide advance notice of their extended hours. This matters because it can enhance nightlife and tourism in the District, making it more accommodating for special events while ensuring local authorities are informed.
