A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION ______________ IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ____________________________ To honor the Old People Are Cool project, supported by Forest Hills of DC, and celebrate our District’s seniors by declaring May 2026 as “Old People Are Cool Month” in the District of Columbia.
WHEREAS, the Administration for Community Living’s theme for Older Americans Month in 2026 is Champion Your Health, which shines the spotlight on healthy aging by encouraging conversations about taking an active role in managing health needs, self-advocacy, preventative care, wellness, and informed decision-making for older adults.adults;
ENROLLED ORIGINAL WHEREAS, we additionally recognize the nobility of those healthcare workers who uplift and care for our elders and seek to acknowledge their dedication to this valued group within our community;
This resolution shall take effect immediatelyimmediately. upon the first date of publication in the District of Columbia Register.
