Plain-language change summary

The latest version of HB 2380 has removed several members from the committee focused on rare disease research, including a caregiver, a representative from a patient organization, a pharmacist, and a biopharma industry representative. In place of these roles, specific individuals are now appointed by the Governor and legislative leaders, ensuring a more diverse representation, including additional healthcare professionals directly involved in treating rare diseases. This change is significant because it could lead to more informed decision-making in the allocation of funds and resources for rare disease research, directly impacting patients and their care.
