Plain-language change summary

The changes to SB 1522 include a clarification of the water withdrawal conditions for municipal providers, extending the timeframe from December 31, 1988, to December 31, 2034. The bill now specifies that withdrawals must not only be consistent with water management goals but also must ensure sufficient water availability for at least 100 years. This matters because it helps provide a clearer framework for water planning and management, ensuring sustainability for communities reliant on those water supplies.
