The updated version of House Bill 2435 now includes a provision for a special audit focusing on how state and local funds are used for homelessness programs. This means that the auditor general will review expenditures from various sources, including state, local, and federal funds, to see how effectively they are addressing homelessness. This change is important because it aims to ensure accountability and transparency in spending and could lead to improved services for individuals experiencing homelessness in the state.
