Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 1307 include a change in the start date for planning requirements from July 1, 2026, to September 1, 2026, which pushes back when the Department must begin addressing the infrastructure needs for electric aircraft and vertiports. Additionally, the plan now explicitly includes public vertiports and electric aircraft charging stations, ensuring these elements are considered in future aviation planning. This is important because it reflects a growing recognition of advanced air mobility and the need for electric aviation infrastructure, which could contribute to more sustainable transportation options. Overall, the adjustments clarify responsibilities for local jurisdictions in implementing these advancements.
