Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Senate Concurrent Resolution 1022 clarify the authority of the independent redistricting commission in Arizona. Specifically, the amendment emphasizes that the commission has exclusive power to decide whether the Arizona attorney general or outside legal counsel will represent the state in defending its redistricting plans. This matters because it reinforces the independence of the commission and ensures it can confidently advocate for its redistricting decisions without outside influence.
