What changed in the latest version

The updated version of HB 2274 focuses specifically on creating a domestic water improvement district in the Willcox groundwater basin, allowing Cochise County's board of supervisors to hold a special election for residents to decide on this district. The earlier reference to "assured water supply" and other detailed amendments to existing statutes have been removed, simplifying the bill's intent. This change is important because it directs the legislation more clearly toward addressing the immediate needs for reliable drinking water delivery in the Willcox area, rather than getting bogged down in broader water supply regulations.
