Plain-language change summary

The revised bill HB 2195 now includes two new sections specifically addressing how nursing care institutions are handled after state surveys. Starting July 1, 2027, nursing facilities will have ten business days to address any deficiencies identified during inspections. Additionally, the bill tightens the timeline for investigating complaints: the Department will only look into issues reported within the last year, except for serious cases of abuse, which allows for longer investigation periods. These changes aim to streamline the oversight process while ensuring swift action on serious allegations—important for safeguarding patient care.
