The updated version of Senate Bill 1236 has changed how eligibility for benefits is verified. It now requires the administration to use information about members' lottery or gambling winnings of $3,000 or more and death records to ensure that only eligible individuals receive assistance. Additionally, the focus on reviewing changes in circumstances has shifted from employment status to also include other indicators of potential ineligibility, like out-of-state transactions. These changes aim to strengthen the integrity of the eligibility process and ensure that benefits are provided fairly and accurately.
