The recent amendments to Bill SB 1020 clarify the regulations around special license plates for vehicles. Specifically, it now states that a passenger motor vehicle rented without a driver will receive the same type of license plate as a private passenger vehicle. This change is significant because it standardizes the appearance of license plates for rented vehicles, which can help avoid confusion on the roads and ensure consistency in vehicle identification.
