31 added · 40 removedPlain-language change summary
The amendments to SB 146 clarify its focus on funding for school construction and major maintenance in regional educational attendance areas and small municipal school districts, as well as at Mt. Edgecumbe High School. Notably, the language about funding for teacher housing has been removed, which indicates a shift away from supporting housing projects specifically for educators. This change matters because it narrows the scope of the funding to just school infrastructure, potentially impacting efforts to attract and retain teachers in these regions.
