The bill has been updated to use the term "virtual currency" instead of "cryptocurrency." This change broadens the scope of the legislation to potentially include a wider range of digital payment options, not just traditional cryptocurrencies. This matters because it could allow state agencies to accept various forms of digital payments in the future, making it easier for individuals to settle fines and fees while reflecting the evolving nature of digital transactions.
