The proposed amendments to Bill SB 1287 change the focus from "materials" to "acts" regarding the exposure of minors to sexually explicit content. These changes clarify that the law pertains not only to physical materials but also to any actions that might expose minors to such content. Additionally, the bill has been reworded to specify that it applies to the state, state agencies, and local governments, along with their contractors. This matters because it broadens the scope of responsibility for preventing minors' exposure, ensuring a stronger legal framework to protect them from inappropriate content.
