Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Senate Bill 1564 includes specific provisions allowing nonpublic school students, including homeschooled children, to participate in interscholastic activities. This bill clarifies that schools can't contract with private entities that restrict nonpublic school students' participation. It also sets requirements for instructors of homeschooled students to verify their academic progress. These changes are important because they ensure a more inclusive environment for students who are educated outside traditional public schools, promoting fairness in extracurricular activities.
