The changes in Senate Bill 1047 involve removing specific language about interfering with law enforcement during crime scene investigations and replacing it with updated definitions around criminal trespass. The bill now emphasizes that trespassing includes entering areas designated by law enforcement as restricted, particularly during active interventions or natural disasters. This matters because it clarifies legal consequences for individuals who disregard law enforcement's barriers and helps maintain safety during critical situations.
