Plain-language change summary

In the recent changes to Bill HB 2383, the title was slightly modified to clarify its focus on aligning with specific federal laws and regulations, including the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This amendment also confirms that certain provisions from these acts will apply retroactively to the 2021 and 2022 tax years. This matters because it ensures that taxpayers can benefit from updated tax guidelines from these federal acts, which could lead to potential savings for individuals and businesses.
