The amendment to Bill HB 2196 reduces the allocation from $75 million to $50.5 million for the Department of Public Safety, specifically for building or repairing infrastructure. This change is significant because it lowers the funding amount available, which could impact the department's ability to complete necessary projects. Additionally, the bill states that this funding will not lapse at the end of the fiscal year, ensuring it can be used when needed without losing it.
